Lesile Cheung
Leslie entered the entertainment business after winning the first runner-up in the ATV Asian Music Contest in 1976. He became one of the most famous singer in Hong Kong after he released his 2nd album, "The Wind Continues To Blow (風繼續吹)". His best-known song, "Monica", was a great hit in 1984 that “led Leslie to become a mega-star, bringing Hong Kong pop entertainment to a new level”. His success lied in being able to break the rules and push the boundary. “While others donned tuxedos and sung love ballads, Leslie danced on stage and set a trend.” The “dancing while singing” style of Leslie was a breakthrough in the Cantonese popular music industry in the 80s and had a huge effect which had continued even in recent years. His “sexy and romantic” image allowed him to gain popularity in Asia.
