‘The Great Wall’ is always recognized with its magnificence. However, Beyond used ‘the Great Wall’ as the motif of how Chinese government diminished and crushed individuals for its ‘national glory’. This is included in Beyond’s《繼續革命》 CD as remarking the June Fourth Movement and reflecting the Chinese history.

‘前世的滄桑　後世的風光

萬里千山牢牢接壤’

The Great Wall was built with death of millions slaves during the First Emperor of Qin’s hegemonic ruling.  With the sacrifice of the past people, we have got the glory of having this magnificent architecture as national heritage now.

‘Covering our eyes and ears’ is the self-deceiving attitude of Chinese towards unfairness. One day, time may wash away the score of the June Fourth Movement like how people have forgotten the cruel past of the Great Wall.
