Hardship of Work

From “邊一個發明了返工”, “爺就是一名辭職撚” to “公司裁員三百人”, My little airport try to present the intense and difficult working environment in Hong Kong. The long working hours and insufficient salary in Hong Kong cause the poor working condition in the company.

 

 

“入職三年都只係加到一萬蚊一個月糧”

 

The inflation rate in Hong Kong increase year by year, however, the wages of most of the Hong Kong people keep in the average of ten thousands. The enactment of the minimum wages didn’t improve the livelihood of Hong Kong working classes. The reality of the working environment in Hong Kong make people feel disappointed and hopeless.

 

 

“裁員潮又再次出現　據說這次要裁走三百件　但員工的心態已經改變　反而擔心自己不在名單裡面”

“員工都驚怕夢想不能兌現　他們都想逃脫企業的魔掌 他們都不想在這裡留得長”

 

The tough situation in the workplace, for example, heavy workload and endless working hours,  puzzle the employees and feel they are trapped in the company. Even though layoff suppose is unwelcomed by the majority of employees, the lyrics show the opposite attitude that people is happy with the layoff so as to escape from the poor working condition in the big business. It presents the problems of employment in Hong Kong ironically.
