It depicts the migration wave after the Sino-British Joint Declaration signed in 1984. People were worried about the social condition of Hong Kong after returning to the reign of Mainland China in 1997, some of them decided to move away from Hong Kong. The lyrics describe the sadness of the people whose family members or friends had left Hong Kong. They feel sad and lonely during Christmas as it was supposedly a day when the family and friends could gather together. Yet, they were separated and living far away from Hong Kong. The song talked about how much people miss their beloved ones and how much they hoped that they could be together.
