The song use the experience of a couple to record and encourage Hong Kong people to participate in Umbrella Movement and fight for democracy.

The Umbrella Movement, a pro-democracy political movement happened in 2014,  has changed the Hong Kong society internally. The movement started originally with a strike organized by Hong Kong Federation of Students to against the decision of the government about the 2017 Chief Executive election and wish to have true universal suffrage in 2017. However, the deny of the government encourage the students occupy the east wing of Central Government Complex. More people come out to support the students after the incident and start to occupy main roads in Admiralty and later spread to Causeway Bay and Mong Kok. Connaught Road Central is the major road which occupy by the protesters during the umbrella movement in Central. Protesters develop the community inside the area after days of occupation and the place is just like their home during the umbrella movement. My little airport also use the ironic lyrics “這是我最可負擔的租金” to reflect the expensive rent in Hong Kong housing.

The most controversial issues during the umbrella movement is the involvement of excessive police violence which equal with the gangs and the extensive use of pepper spray and tear gas to disperse the crowd. The clash between protesters and police are always happened. But many Hong Kong people still actively participate in the umbrella movement to protect their rights and justice. We can see girls, secondary school students and even elderly people during the protests and the effort of the protests are being recognized in everywhere in the occupied areas.

The occupy central action raise different opinions in the society, some people feel that the protesters is irrational to block the roads and affect the life of Hong Kong people socially and economically. Not only the clashes between protesters and police, also between supporters and opponents. But, My little airport thinks that it is the responsibility of them to fight for the democracy in Hong Kong not only for us but the next generation. So, they will continue to support the umbrella movement by sleeping in the protest area every night although they don’t know which night the police will use violence to clean the crowd in this area.
